Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at De Anza Academy of Technology & the Arts (DATA), where we proudly embrace the identity of the Navigators. At DATA, we believe every student is a Navigator, capable of charting their own course, overcoming challenges, and achieving success with purpose and confidence.

As I begin my third year as principal of this incredible school, I continue to feel honored to serve such an amazing community. Our dedicated staff is committed to supporting every student by providing the opportunities, encouragement, and guidance they need to grow both academically and personally.

At DATA, we strive to create a learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and challenged to do their best. Learning extends beyond the classroom through authentic experiences that encourage critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and real-world problem solving. We want every student to leave DATA prepared not only for high school, but for whatever path they choose next.

Relationships are at the heart of everything we do. By working together with our students, families, and staff, we continue to build a school culture rooted in respect, connection, and belonging.  This year, we look forward to continuing the work of our Pursuit of Excellence Committee, which helps recognize student achievement, encourage school involvement, and create meaningful experiences for our Navigators. We will also continue building on our LEAD expectations: Learn, Explore, Aspire, and Dare. These expectations guide how we learn, how we treat one another, and how we grow together as a school community.

As we begin another school year, I encourage every student to embrace the spirit of the Navigator. Try something new, challenge yourself, support those around you, and take pride in your accomplishments along the way.
