Our Mission

De Anza Academy of Technology & the Arts (DATA) is a high achieving and innovative magnet school where students, community, and staff collaborate in authentic learning experiences. Together, we support an inclusive environment focused on relationships in order to develop skills for a global society.

Our Vision

DATA is a place of opportunity for all students to reach their highest potential as students and responsible members of our diverse community. Students, parents, faculty and staff are vital participants in the learning process.  DATA has a safe, nurturing and respectful environment where teachers have the right to teach, students have the right to learn and parents have the responsibility to participate. Students, parents and staff will work together to ensure all students are successful.

8TH GRADE PROMOTION INFORMATION

  8th Grade Promotion Information

We are excited to celebrate our 8th grade students during DATA’s Promotion Ceremony on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. We look forward to honoring the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 and celebrating this important moment with our students and families.

To help ensure a safe, organized, and memorable event for everyone, please review the important information and expectations below and refer to the infographic for additional ceremony logistics and details. Please also review the schedule for the last two weeks of school.

  • Student attire should reflect the formality of the ceremony and adhere to DATA’s dress code. Dresses, slacks, shirts, and shoes should be appropriate for the event.
  • Please wear appropriate footwear, as the ceremony will take place on the grass in the quad.
  • Entrance to the ceremony will be between the H Building and gym area. To allow time for final preparations, families may not enter the quad/seating area before 10:30a.m.
  • Siblings are welcome to attend. Please call the office beforehand to report their absence from school. (805) 641-5165.
  • Following the ceremony, families will have an opportunity to take photos near the gym area.
  • We ask families to begin making their way toward the gym area afterward, as lunch service for our 6th and 7th grade students will begin shortly after.
  • 8th grade students will be permitted to leave following the ceremony. Parents/guardians must sign students out at the attendance tables located between the H Building and gym area.
  • Please remind your student that promotion is a respectful school event. We expect all students to demonstrate appropriate behavior throughout the ceremony. Disruptive or inappropriate behavior may result in removal from the event and/or not being recognized during the promotion roll call.

Información Sobre la Promoción de 8.º Grado  

Estamos emocionados de celebrar a nuestros estudiantes de 8.º grado durante la Ceremonia de Promoción de DATA el miércoles 3 de junio de 2026 a las 11:30 a.m. Esperamos reconocer los logros de la Clase de 2026 y celebrar este importante momento junto con nuestros estudiantes y familias.

Para ayudar a garantizar un evento seguro, organizado y memorable para todos, por favor revise la siguiente información importante y expectativas, y consulte la infografía para obtener detalles adicionales sobre la logística de la ceremonia. También le pedimos revisar el horario de las últimas dos semanas de clases.

  • La vestimenta de los estudiantes debe reflejar la formalidad de la ceremonia y cumplir con el código de vestimenta de DATA. Vestidos, pantalones, camisas y zapatos deben ser apropiados para el evento.
  • Por favor use calzado adecuado, ya que la ceremonia se llevará a cabo en el pasto del plantel.
  • La entrada a la ceremonia será entre el edificio H y el área del gimnasio. Para permitir tiempo para los preparativos finales, las familias no podrán ingresar al área del plantel/asientos antes de las 10:30a.m.
  • Los hermanos/as son bienvenidos a asistir. Por favor llame a la oficina con anticipación para reportar su ausencia escolar. (805) 641-5165.
  • Después de la ceremonia, las familias tendrán la oportunidad de tomarse fotos cerca del área del gimnasio.
  • Pedimos a las familias que comiencen a dirigirse hacia el área del gimnasio después de la ceremonia, ya que el servicio de almuerzo para nuestros estudiantes de 6.º y 7.º grado comenzará poco después.
  • Los estudiantes de 8.º grado podrán retirarse después de la ceremonia. Los padres/tutores deberán firmar la salida de los estudiantes en las mesas de asistencia ubicadas entre el edificio H y el área del gimnasio.
  • Por favor recuerde a su estudiante que la promoción es un evento escolar formal y respetuoso. Esperamos que todos los estudiantes demuestren un comportamiento apropiado durante toda la ceremonia. El comportamiento disruptivo o inapropiado puede resultar en la expulsión del evento y/o en que el estudiante no sea reconocido durante el pase de lista de promoción.
