Our Mission
De Anza Academy of Technology & the Arts (DATA) is a high achieving and innovative magnet school where students, community, and staff collaborate in authentic learning experiences. Together, we support an inclusive environment focused on relationships in order to develop skills for a global society.
Our Vision
DATA is a place of opportunity for all students to reach their highest potential as students and responsible members of our diverse community. Students, parents, faculty and staff are vital participants in the learning process. DATA has a safe, nurturing and respectful environment where teachers have the right to teach, students have the right to learn and parents have the responsibility to participate. Students, parents and staff will work together to ensure all students are successful.
SCHOOL OF CHOICE INFORMATION
If you missed Discover DATA Night, you can still learn more about our school by viewing the Discover DATA slideshow. The presentation highlights our academic programs, student opportunities, and our new Learning Design Center, an innovative space where students engage in hands-on, project-based learning alongside guest experts and professional artists. Students experience creative, real-world projects such as:
- Saori Japanese Weaving
- Digital Music Composition
- Graphic Design and Embroidery
- Printmaking and ProCreate
- Direct-to-Garment Design and Sewing
DATA will continue to accept applications after the School of Choice deadline by completing the Intradistrict or Interdistrict Transfers form.

Información sobre Escuela de Elección
Si no pudo asistir a La Noche Descubriendo DATA, aún puede conocer más sobre nuestra escuela viendo la presentación de Descubriendo DATA. Esta presentación destaca nuestros programas académicos, las oportunidades para los estudiantes y nuestro nuevo Centro de Diseño del Aprendizaje, un espacio innovador donde los estudiantes participan en aprendizajes prácticos basados en proyectos, junto a expertos invitados y artistas profesionales. Los estudiantes disfrutan de proyectos creativos y del mundo real como:
- Tejido japonés Saori
- Composición musical digital
- Diseño gráfico y bordado
- Grabado y uso de ProCreate
- Diseño y confección directa de prendas
DATA continuará aceptando solicitudes después de la fecha limite de School of Choice mediante la el folmulario de Transferecia Intradistrital o Interdistrital.

DATA is excited to host Boys and Girls Wrestling for all VUSD middle schools this season. The deadline to sign up is January 16. Families are encouraged to attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, January 28, 2026 at 5:30pm in the DATA Middle School Cafeteria to learn more about the program. All VUSD middle school students are welcome to participate, including students from Anacapa, Atlas, Balboa, Cabrillo, Lemon Grove, Sunset, and DATA!
